Description

We're starting out by playing this really steady riff in A, which is a bit reminiscent of AC/DC - especially when guitar 2 comes in with the riff on the upbeat. You're simply playing the open A string, then doing an A power chord on the D and G string.

Rhythmically we're playing straight 8th notes and emphasizing the 5th of the chord every other beat.

When you're playing parts like this that set up the song, it's important that you hold down the rhythm. Essentially the whole band is relying on you to set up the right tempo and feel. So make sure you've got the right feel for this opening riff before you move on.
