Description

In our last lesson covering rhythm guitar, we are now at the end of the song. This section has two parts; one being from the point of the view of the father, and the other from the son. You will notice that "father" section is played and sang much softer, and than when the band comes in the lyrics are sang from the "sons" perspective. This change in dynamic has been consistent throughout the entire song. We are playing similar chord progressions as we have heard in the rest of the song, with a slight change to end the track. Here are some key points to guide you through the ending of "Father and Son."

1. This section is in two parts. The "father" part being a 4 bar phrase repeated, and the "son" part being the same as before with a few changes and an ending.

2. The chord progression is:

4/4: [: G D/F# - C Ami - G Emi - Ami D :]

G Bmi - C Ami - G Emi - Ami D

G Bmi - C Ami - G Emi - D G G

3/4 D - C 4/4 G:

3. The last time through the progression when you hit the C, there is a rest on beat 2 that accents the vocals and leaves space for the next measure.

4. The section ends on a G major chord that ends the track.
