Description
A great place to start with all this is to develop a sense of the difference between playing "on top of the beat" and "behind the beat". Most people have a natural tendency to rush and be on top of the beat, but a few people have it the opposite way. Whatever your personal tendency is, you want to be aware of it and know how to use it and change it up when you need to.
First I'll show you a simple guitar part that we'll be using and then we'll experiment with the different sounds you get from playing "in the pocket", ahead of and behind the beat.
