I Just Want to Celebrate was made famous by Rare Earth in 1971 and is a great example of the guitar driven classic-rock sound which was so prominent in the 60s and 70s.
This up-beat song features two channels of rocking guitar panned left and right and is full of fun and funky parts to dig into! It has a great pentatonic theme riff, played with a cool, kickin' tone, which really drives the tune.
In this tutorial we'll learn the signature guitar hook which is also the chorus, the verse riff and power chords, we'll learn the B chorus, a short solo and four rocking guitar fills. At the end we'll play with some feed back and delay loops before we put it all together and do our play-along.
