Description

Any acoustic guitar is suitable to play this song, but one with a brighter tone will help cut through the band a bit better.

I'm playing a Les Paul style guitar for the electric parts, but any guitar with a humbucker in the bridge position is perfect. In modern country productions, the electric guitars have more in common with classic rock tones than the telecaster twang of traditional country.
As far as amps go, any cranked up Marshall style tube amp is the perfect choice. Dial the amp in for a medium crunch sound. Set the bass to 45%, mids to 55%, treble to 60%, and presence to 65%. For Guitar 3, kick in an overdrive pedal for more sustain while soloing.

All guitars require a capo placed at the 1st fret.

I'm using a 10-46 string gage, with a heavy pick so I can dig right into riffs and licks with some great attack! Add some reverb for depth. Here are the settings I used:

Marshall Plexi Model:
Drive: 75% Bass: 45% Mid: 55% Treb: 60% Presence: 65%
Tube Screamer (Guitar 3):
Drive: 70% Tone: 50%
Spring Reverb:
WetDryMIX: 45%
