Description

Any electric guitar with a humbucker pickup in the bridge position is suitable to play this song. The humbucker provides plenty of power and clarity perfect for aggressive, arena-rock riffing.

Guitar 4 is an acoustic guitar. Any acoustic is suitable to play this song, but one with a brighter tone will help cut through the band better.

As far as amps go, a Marshall style tube amp is the best choice. Crank up the preamp gain to full for a big crunch sound. Set the bass to 40%, mids to 60%, and highs to 65%.

Guitar 1 plays along with the acoustic with a cleaned up sound in the verse and the interlude sections. You can achieve this by either switching to a clean channel on your amp, rolling down your volume knob, or even using a volume pedal to clean things up.

Guitars 2 and 3 are lead guitar layers that can benefit from some added gain, such as kicking in a boost or overdrive pedal. This will give you more sustain and saturation, perfect for digging into the leads.

I'm using 10-46 gage strings and medium to heavy picks so I can dig in and get aggressive with some nice attack on the strings.

Add some reverb to all guitars for depth. Here are the settings I used:
