Description

Electric guitars are generally easier to play than acoustic guitars. Let's talk about why this is!

This is my Stratocaster, which is a very common type of electric guitar. Notice how skinny the neck is. This means it's easy to cover multiple strings at once and hold it all in your hand, but it also means you have less space for your finger tips.

Generally the strings are lighter on an electric guitar, which means there's less resistance when you're pressing them down. Generally the body is smaller too, so your posture can be a bit more relaxed than with the bigger acoustics.

So if you're having trouble playing a certain thing on your acoustic guitar, or if your fingertips are getting tired or sore, you can try switching to an electric for a bit.
