Description

Now it's time to play through our practice tune up to speed. Feel free to watch and listen a couple of times before you start play along yourself. Then play along with me as many times as you need to and whenever you're ready you should try playing the song completely on your own. But there's no rush getting there!

I hope you've enjoyed learning these classic jazzy voicings. It's a strange thing that we've come up with these labels for the different styles of music, cause when you really start digging into it everything is so connected: jazz, blues, country, pop, R&B, gospel etc. It's all the same 12 notes and so many of the basic tools used are the same. So at the end of the day we're just learning music.

How you present it all and what specific accent you give it is a much smaller part of a way bigger picture. These types of chords are used in classic standards from way back when, but you'll also hear them on the radio today. So they're important to know regardless of what type of music you ultimately want to play and of course the theory behind it all is even more universal.
