Description

The term power chords refers to a chord without a 3rd. And hopefully you remember that the 3rd is the note that determines whether a chord is major or minor, so a power chord is a chord that its neither of those. It's a term that's most often used in conjunction with electric guitar, but power chords can be incredibly useful on acoustic guitar as well. So in this tutorial we'll explore the classic fretted power chords, but we'll also explore the more bluegrass-sounding open power chords that are particularly cool on acoustic guitar.
