Description

As far as guitars go, a Les Paul style guitar would be the ideal choice here, but any guitar with humbucker pickups in the bridge position will work well. The humbuckers keep the tone powerful and clear when playing through a heavy crunch sound.

As for amps, any Marshall style tube amp is the perfect choice. Crank the preamp gain all the way up to get some thick crunch. If you can't get enough, try an overdrive pedal in front of the amp. You're not looking for a fully distorted/fuzzed out sound here, just a nice crunchy overdrive. Check out the settings I used:

Marshall Plexi Model: Drive: 100% Bass: 55% Mid: 50% Treble: 45% Presence: 60%
