Description
Playing funk requires skill in both exciting rhythm guitar and funky lead lines and solos. In this tutorial we'll explore both and couple them with extensive use of a wah pedal to create a mood I like to call "Smoky Funk".
This mood needs a busy right hand to play funky chords and muted rhythms. We'll learn to use standard minor pentatonic ideas over the track I've created for you. We'll also learn a more exotic sound by using the Dorian mode as a scale for improvisation.
If you're into creating that dark, smoky, after-hours club funk, you've come to the right place. Let's get funky.
