Description

Changing the subdivision is another fun method for building speed. The idea here is to keep the tempo the same, but change the subdivision of the lick you're practicing.

You would start out playing quarter notes, then go to quarter note triplets, 8th notes, 8th note triplets, 16th notes, 16th note triplets and so on (if you can).

It is wise to start at a slow-medium tempo as the 16th note triplets will feel very fast at tempos above 100 bpm.
