Description

By now the 12 bar blues form should be part of your vocabulary. If you don't have the form memorized and where it can be played in every key, then this lesson may prove difficult.

We will be combining everything we've done so far into the 12 bar blues form. In this lesson, we will create a riff around the 12 bar form's 3 tonal centers. Remember that the 3 tonal centers refer to treating the I, IV and V chords as their own key. This allows you to create great riffs as you will see from this exercise.

Learning the form is the basic element of how country borrows from the blues. All the techniques we've learned up to this point is how country music owns the form and makes it "country".
