Hello everyone, Lots of resources are available on learning scales, but I'm still confused on what I should be focusing on and how to improve my skills.

The major, minor, and minor pentatonic scales have all been part of my practice routine.

I was wondering if you could point me in the direction of a video tutorial that clearly demonstrates the most efficient way to practice scales.

I can't point to any videos, but to me, we use scales to try and make music. Licks. I can move through a scale pretty quickly but what's the point? I prefer to listen to someone and hear what they are doing within a given scale to make music. Example Hendrix. He would make something beautiful out of a scale. That, to me, is the goal. I suggest you pick an artist and really dig into what he is doing with those scales and first mimick them, then try to modify them to come up with something a little different and play along to the track.

This year the diet is definitely gonna stick!
