Playing from heart

Get a knife, thrash it across your chest, tear out your heart and beat it against the strings of the guitar!!
oh sorry, I thought you said "with your heart" not "from your heart"
It's just an expression, and is hard to define in words. Basically it just means to put some emotional quality into your playing. Try doing some visualising excercises when you play, imagine your loved one just broke up with you, now try to express how you might feel with your guitar, or imagine you just struck it rich, etc...
