I tried Hammerhead but it's for loops, not the best thing to build tracks, but it's free.

Here's a link for music freewares

You can also surf in this page

This is a link page for loops, can be useful

Fruity loop is good but it's not free

This is a really good site to visit.

http://hem.passagen.se/lej97/kalava/

It as a lot .wav of real drum sounds. Sometimes you can find free drum machines that lets you import .wav files.

With those files, you can take out the lame sounds provided with the drum machines and replace them with REAL drum.

Very nice.

I guess you now have everything you need, Enjoy.

I use and recommend FruityLoops3.

Everything is done in a nice step sequencer and playlist, and the program uses real instrument samples, not midi crap. You can do drums, bass, orchestrations, etc, and there's even techno synths (if you're into that sort of thing).

You can download a trial version on that website, but if you look around, you may be able to find full versions. ;)
