Tertian harmony

Harmony based on third intervals. This can be based on major thirds (such as C to E - four semitones) or minor thirds (C to Eb - three semitones). Ordinary chord triads are actually made from two tertian intervals on top of one another. Chord progressions can also be tertian harmonies.
