Notation (standard)

Standard musical notation, consisting of note symbols arranged on staffs of five lines. The different specific notes dictate their length and their position shows the specific pitch. Ledger lines are used to mark notes which fall off the five lines of the staff, and the clef to the left of the staff tells you the value of the lowest line.
