Bridge

The construction on the guitar body which holds the strings up in position, usually found just in front of the point where the strings meet the guitar body. On electric guitars, the bridge will be a metallic construction standing up off the body, resembling a bridge, which the strings arch over. On acoustics it usually wooden, with a strip of white synthetic material to raise string height.
